BYLAWS FOR LOST LEADERS

Respect:

In Creation of this group I have carefully considered what it should and what it shouldn’t be. For in every interaction with my fellow humans as a whole there should always be a respect factor. Yes I know this Respect word should be earned not given on a whim. But the basic rule of all society or culture deems us worthy of having some basic respect for people because they are people. This should be a staple in this organization and be held under the highest regard by its members as well as those that lead it. Those that can’t follow this action should find help for themselves elsewhere. There will be no slanderous or insulting remarks made to members or other poets written or recorded about anyone alive or dead. If there are disagreements they should be voiced in a manner that is both calm and well thought out, so some compromise can be made. Or one or more Elders of this group will arbitrate a final decision.

Accountability:

If we are going to ask for compensation for our work or talent we must First hold ourselves in higher regards by protecting our work. Take responsibility for the actions we do. If asked by a group member to do a task then know if that poet refuses to do it or does not do it in the agreed fashion then be expected to get less tasks given to them in the future. If they do it above and beyond required parameters then please expect more responsibility will be given and more doors will open for them.

Elders:

This position will be held by a selected few.  It will command more responsibility to the Elder, like researching marketing ways, meetings, creation of challenges, overseeing projects that the group has for all its members. Also, workshops and other things that will make the group grow as a whole. The requirements in time would be 4 to 8 hours a week planning and researching subject matter and recruiting. Elders will be asked to comment on at least 5 members a week and seek out other poets that wish to take part in the group. All Elders must have knowledge of all group activities and meeting information. They should have any and all links to Blogs that the Group has done and working knowledge of what is to come. Poets that can’t do these tasks will be dropped from the position of Elder until they feel they can commit to what is being asked of them. Any and all research asked to be done for the group is for everyone and should be shared in its entirety. I feel if you are unwilling to share with others then this is not the place for you. This is a group that believes that by working together everyone will get what they rightfully want but one must help others to get there too. Elders will also be given a challenge before taking their seat. This challenge will have to be done in a set amount of time and all other Elders must read over the work and verify the talent.
All members must meet and ok new Elder. If there are any objections then they should be voiced in a meeting.

Members:

Members will be given a set of challenges to do. We expect at least one a week should be done. This is to hone the talents of the poets and make better poets in the long run. There will be internet outlets that members can go to and read over what is coming for the group. All information about marketing and projects will be submitted there. Poets are welcome to post challenges to each other and comment and rate. We would like to see all members comment on at least 8 poems a week. This will show you the Writing here is a community thing and should be shared to find your own voice.  Lastly all members must follow the bylaws. If we are to gain value in what we put on paper to market to the world we must act as an example to others. For the only way we are to effect change is by setting the bar and following it to the fullest extent.

Commenting and Rating:

This I feel is the most grey area to all poets but should be addressed. Knowing we are not only a marketing group but a place where poets come for help I think we should set the bar in this matter. I feel all members should be adult enough to give both sides of the coin, good and bad, to the work they read. All Elders and members  should try to set a path for the poet not just voice off one side.  I know poets want more than just a pat on the back . Teaching them how to write so that they can further their ambitions is paramount to their success as a person and a poet. Also I have been advised that the generosity of saying thanks goes a long way. I am not talking about bowing before every reader of our work and saying God bless you for reading my work, but a small thank you is always nice. After all, out of all the work out there, they read your piece and commented. You did your job as a poet-- you invoked a response and that alone is a feat so be grateful to the readers that help support you by reading your work.

Websites:

We have one place now and it is fine but my plans open several chapters in other sites. Recruiting from there and using their own special formats like chat rooms and other forums will allow us more exposure as a group. We will find other elders to manage each site so that so much is not given to a few people.

Marketing:

As the group evolves in time and services are made for its members, we expect to expand to workshops, ebooks, contests, products and more. The group shall retain a set time to market a piece of work. After that time all rights will revert back to the Author.  Everything done will be in ink, Notarized before any marketing of any poem(s) is/are done. All poets are expected to show copyright proof before any poem is marketed By Lost Leaders.

The Bylaws:

In closing, these rules are set in place to help everyone for there is no one better than the other. We all have talents and we all have an equal right to voice our opinions or poems.  Yet those that refuse to abide by these rules should be asked to leave.  For infractions of these rules the Elders will discuss the matter and take responsible actions to rectify the problem. If the infraction is serious enough the poet will be asked to leave the group altogether by all Elders. All and any compensation will be given to the poet in the responsible set time agreement and any and all other work with that particular poet will be terminated.  However this decision has to be unanimous by all elders before this drastic action can be taken.

By filling out this last few questions you are agreeing to all the terms set forth in the Bylaws of Lost Leaders
